Comfort Via Discomfort

EP 034 - You need to prioritize your self care, because no one else will do it for you w/ Liseth Velez

Adam Boismier Episode 34

The Comfort Via Discomfort podcast is 1-year old! To celebrate this milestone and to honor all the guests and supporters of this show, we’re counting down the top 10 episodes from our first year.

Here is #7 with Liseth Velez!

——

After serving in the Army and United States Air Force for 8 years, Liseth went into liquor sales and is now Founder and CEO of LJV Development, a general contracting company that serves all of New England.

She is also a Board Member of a non-profit organization called LIT Conversations, which provides high school students the opportunity to speak with professionals in STEM careers to help them make better decisions for their future.

In this episode, Liseth and I talk a lot about mental health. We didn’t expect to spend so much time on this topic, but hey, it just goes to show how important it really is.

Liseth talks about how a deployment to Djibouti, Africa really changed her perspective and who she was as a person. When she returned home from this deployment, she realized that something wasn’t right and decided to seek help because she knew she couldn’t live her life that way.

She also tells me how she combined her experience in the Army and Air Force with her passion for sales and construction to form her dream company 🔥
